What i use

Updated 04/04/09

My Home network and setup has changed a lot from the last version of this page. A recent addition to the home network has been my new Dell Optiplex GX150 PC – the specifications of which have been logged on this site.

So in total i now have 4 PCs on my home network. My sister has a laptop, my dad has a laptop, there is a main family computer and then there is my computer. (Picture below)

Sister’s Laptop (EiSystems 7089 UK)

  • 1.6Ghz Celeron Processor
  • 256Mb RAM
  • Windows 2000 Pro -> Windows XP Home (Dual Boot)

Dad’s Laptop (Sony Vaio C2S Green)

  • 1.8Ghz Centrino Processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • Windows XP Pro

Main Computer (Dell Inspiron 530)

  • 1.8Ghz Pentium Dual Core Processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • Windows XP Home

My Computer (Dell Optiplex GX150)

  • 866Mhz Pentium III Processor
  • 390Mb RAM
  • Windows 2000 Pro

I don’t currently have anything in the way of remote access, although i have now worked out how to correctly configure my network for remote access.

I use MS Office 2003 Student Edition on My Sister’s laptop, my dad’s laptop and the main computer and use NetSupport School throughout my network to easily manage remote installations, monitor computers e.t.c.

For web browsing i use Mozilla Firefox.
